We have just finished making a "Chicken Tractor".....no we don't harness the chickens to pull it...it is a small coop for chickens to run in and it is moved daily so that the chickens can scratch the soil and loosen it enough for us to plants seeds behind them.....they also drop their natural fertiliser to give the soil a boost...it is an A frame which is virtually snake proof....covered with chicken wire...and a nesting box is attached to the back of it....water containers hang up in the run and a heavy bowl for food is placed on the ground inside the coop. We have been given two little tiny Japanese bantams...( a pair) and are hoping to breed from them.....if this is successful..we may build another bigger one for big egg laying chickens for breakfast treats.....freshly layed eggs are wonderful.
