General Wish List

• Mosquito Repellant

Wish List for the birthing room, which is very busy at present.

• Cord Clamps for new borns.
• Obstetric instruments.
• A suction set for new borns.
• Cotton mittens and knitted or crocheted bootees and small size hats.
• Small size vests or singlets for first size babies
• Cloth or toweling nappies, used are fine.
• Baby sheets and towels and face washers.
• Toiletries for new babies.
• Vitamins for pregnant and lactating women
• Dettol and dettol wipes
• Used white sheets for the birthing room.
• Sanitary napkins in large sizes.
• Used plastic backed sheets.
• Sarongs to give Mothers in the birthing room.
• Nursing bras and button through small size tops.
• Soft bunny rugs or small soft blankets for Mothers to take baby home in. These could be knitted or crocheted out of acrylic yarn in patchwork designs to use up odd balls of yarn.

• Second hand single sheets and pillow cases.
• Towels also second hand.
• IV sets in small sizes
• Gauze bandages and dressings
• scissors
• Dettol and antiseptic soap.
• Surgical disposable masks and hats.
• Small size suture sets in catgut and chrome.
• Anti-biotics..e.g. amoxycillin 500mg, augmentin 500mg, ciprofloxacin
  and metronidazole. Also syrups for babies. Can be bought here quite
  cheaply.
• Anti-biotic, antiseptic and anti-fungal creams for skin infections.
• Eucalyptus Oil for flu, tea tree oil for fungal infections.
• Movable lamp for stitching wounds, difficult to see sometimes.
• Torches and batteries for work outside on the road, accidents at night
  for example. Also can be bought here.
  

The Emergency Room wish list

• I.V. sets in small sizes
• Plastic mattress covers
• Lightweight blankets
• Sterile dressings, sofra tulle, gauze bandages, gel dressings etc..
• 2.5 ml. Syringes 5 ml. Syringes
• Betadine
• Dettol
• Alcohol swabs
• Suture sets
• Cotton wool
• Metal or plastic trays and bowls
• Surgical Gloves in sizes 7-7.5
• Disposable surgical masks
• Slides and fixative for our microscope
• Centrifuge
• Rubber electrode holders for our ECG machine
• Paper rolls for above
• Taps and a hand basin.
• I guess I could add some very big wishes to this list, for example an oxygen cylinder and a portable X-ray unit....but maybe later...

The Patients Waiting Area Wish List

• Second hand magazines or picture books. (English OK as the patients just love the pictures. Especially of other countries.)
• Plant pots, not essential but attractive, especially with tomatoes in.
